Hey there! Thanks for checking out my blog! Read more about me here So we can more acquainted :). You will have to excuse my mess on the blog, I’m still polishing it. But lets chat!
So here’s to stepping out! And it’s not what you think. Not stepping out as in going to a party or and event but rather, stepping outside of the comfort zone that you have gated yourself in. The box that we all place ourselves in. At times we all become complacent and get comfortable with who we are, where we are, or what we’ve become. But let me ask a question, have you reached your full potential? If your answer was no, then read on.
3 Keys to Step out of the Zone:
1. Let Go of Fear
One thing I have been telling myself lately: “Fear is the death of all dreams.” I came to that conclusion when I reflected on the things I wanted to do and compared that to the list of the things that I had actually accomplished, the unaccomplished list was much longer. I then realized most of that was due to fear of “what ifs”. What if no one likes my idea? What if I don’t fit in there? What if I’m not qualified? Well, now I’ve said goodbye to those questions and asked myself “What if God is who He says He is? And What if things go according to His plan, not mine?” Let’s just say I’ve relaxed so much since then.
2. Make the Vision Plain
Before you can step out of the box or your comfort zone, you have to SEE yourself outside. Or in other words, envision yourself there. Start seeing yourself as doctor, entrepreneur, or what ever it is that God has placed on your heart to do and be. The desires you have can literally change the world. So don’t envision the difficulty of it only, imagine it as possible. Truly, it is possible. I am always amazed by some of the biographies I’ve read where individuals have overcome great obstacles in life such as war, murder, rape, family crisis’, you name it. Yet, instead of being a product of that, they have become inspiring people that have impacted the world. It all starts with seeing your way out.
3. Reward Small Accomplishments
Small steps towards the goal are just as important as the bigger goals themselves. They should be celebrated because it means you are on your way to accomplishing the goal. Celebrating the small goals also prove as a motivator to keep going. The only caveat is that you shouldn’t get sidetracked in your “goal digging” with rewards along the way.
Before we part ways let me leave you with this : Proverbs 23:7 ‘As a man thinks, so is he…’ and Proverbs 18:21 ‘ The tongue has the power of life and death in it’
Until next time, live life on purpose!
