No competition out there, no not one
No one compares to me
my shade, my mind, my physique
not that I’m better….or even lesser
I’m simply being who God created me to be
simply me…in my own lane
therefore there is NO competition, no not one
Too many times we get caught up in this rat race called “life” and there is this constant pull to be better, do better, or look better than the next person. A constant comparison. As a result, we feel inadequate, less than, or in some cases better than those around us. But at the end of the day, none of that even matters. How has anyone’s failure or success ever taken away from your life? My point is we have too many insecurities to actually LIVE. We were never created to live in this constant frenzy of comparison.
STAY IN YOUR LANE
If it has not been said before let me say it now, stay in your lane, my friend. Yes, I said it, but let me say it once more. Stay in your lane! And guess what? It is YOUR lane, “that is all you, boo. ” That means that is your place to shine, your domain and no one can take it away from you, unless you give it away. I had a conversation with a friend recently and she stated she wanted to do something, but she knew of someone else that was doing that particular thing. So, to keep it short, she decided against pursuing that dream. Just because someone else has a similar dream or desire should not change yours. Just as we are all made unique down to our DNA, the expression of our thoughts and dreams will also be unique.
On the other hand that would be your opportunity to truly own, whatever it is that you desire. It’s important to shift your perspective on how you see “the glass”, half-empty or half- full. Whatever it is you’re creating in your mind, make it your baby, so to speak. With your DNA written all over it, so that its undeniably, yours.
It took me a while ( and I’m still working on it) to stop looking at other people with blinders on. I mean I would see everything thats “great” about them with out any flaws. But it when it came to myself, it would be the complete opposite. I would pick at my “flaws” so easily. I’ve come to realize my so called flaws are perfect, and they are what make me. Instead of feeling down about what you think is wrong, use that! It doesn’t hinder you from going after your hearts desires, it can actually be our catapult.
Ephesians 2:10: For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.
So what will you go after now? 🙂
