*5 minute read*
Hello there! Welcome back to the blog and thanks for taking the time to read. I’ve been wanting to try something a bit different from time to time here on the blog. I plan to start doing series on various topics as well some short stories. I think it is always a beautiful thing when your words can come to life through narratives. Based on the feedback I have received on past short stories, I think you will be in for a treat. :). With that being said let’s dive into our first series. Fear.
There is so much that can be said about fear, from the bodies chemical reactions in response to fear, to finding that it often has deep origins, to having irrational fears such as phobias. Regardless of your first thought when you think of the issue, I believe one thing that can be said is that fear is debilitating. It has the power to make you second guess every step that you take or prevent you from taking any steps at all. Granted, Fear should not be confused with caution. I am certainly not suggesting that we throw “caution to the wind”. However, I am suggesting we fiercely go after the things that matter the most to us. So, how can we step out to accomplish the dreams that are on our hearts?
Forgetting The Past
So you’ve made mistakes, large ones that never seem to dissipate no matter what you do. But who hasn’t? We have all made them and have those that we wish no one knew about. Many times that mistake will stop us from trying that particular thing again. I wonder, have you ever stopped to think that how you view that situation may be affecting your present and even your future? While we may not be able to fully “forget” the past we can alter the way we view it. Instead of viewing a past mistake as something to cringe over every time you think about, see it as an opportunity to grow, change, and develop. With every mistake you actually benefit from it, you learn one more way not to do things. Some of the greatest people who have had the greatest impact are those who failed, and failed multiple times.
I can say that I have SSSSOOOO MANY things that I have regretted about my past, I could not begin to number them for you. One thing I have realized is that, everyday is a gift from God and also an opportunity to start afresh. It is only March, but I can confidently say I have accomplished more in this year (thus far) than I have in all of 2016 in terms of going after my dreams. I am so excited to share the journey with you all.
Here is something to think about before we press pause for this week. Someone is waiting for you! Yes, YOU! Waiting for you unleash your gifts, talents, visions. They are waiting for you to write that long awaited book, for you to become the speaker that will speak life into them, for you to step out and develop the business that may serve millions. Although it seems like your dream won’t touch others, the reality is that it does. The sad part is they may never receive from us, if we continue in fear.
Stay tuned for more…
